AS9100 is the quality management system for the aerospace industry
Customers in the aerospace industry want to be reassured that their business partners will continue to meet their needs for sustainable quality throughout the supply chain. To address these concerns, the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) has developed the Industry specific Aerospace Quality Management System Standards (AQMS). Based on ISO 9001, the AQMS standards are supplemented with requirements specific to both civil and military aerospace applications.
2009 AQMS Standard Revisions
All three AQMS standards were revised in 2009. The new releases incorporate recent changes to ISO 9001:2008 and introduce new requirements for aviation, space, and defense companies. The common requirements represent the combined efforts of aviation, defense, and space industry manufacturers and suppliers; civil airworthiness authorities; certification/registration bodies; as well as related trade associations to create a unifying standard.
The changes to AS9100 in Release C are the most significant since the inception of the standard. To ensure that you pass your audit, it is critical to review, understand, and properly implement the new requirements as soon as possible.

AS9101 Revision D
In April 2010, the AQMS audit process was completely redesigned to ensure consistency in auditor understanding and implementation of AS9100C. AS9101 Rev D defines a new process for auditing aerospace management systems (AMS) for conformance with AS9100.
