Course Description

Make sure you are qualified to lead and participate in audits for the growing nuclear industry. This course has been developed by Oriel STAT A MATRIX to provide the necessary body of knowledge for individuals to pursue lead auditor certification under either NQA-1 or the ANSI 45.2 standards. The course closely follows 10CFR50 Appendix B, Nuclear Quality Assurance Requirements. Upon completion of this comprehensive program, you will be prepared to lead nuclear QA audits, including both internal audits and external supplier audits. 

Oriel STAT A MATRIX industry experts will also provide insight into what to expect when your facility is audited for compliance against the nuclear industry quality assurance requirements. This interactive course, presented largely through hands-on workshops, teaches you the skills you need to plan, conduct, and follow up on nuclear compliance audits.

Objectives

Over five intensive days, learn the process of auditing to the requirements of 10CFR50 Appendix B as well as nuclear industry consensus standards such as NQA-1. The auditing discipline is presented in accordance with the latest expectations for auditing from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and the Department of Energy (DOE).

  • Understand the overall structure of the nuclear sector and who the key stakeholders are.
  • Recognize the regulatory environment and the requirements against which audits are conducted, particularly 10CFR50 Appendix B.
  • Learn how to plan, conduct, and report on audits in accordance with the latest methodologies and requirements.
  • Recognize the importance of key processes that interact with the auditing processes, such as corrective and preventive action and control of nonconformances.
