Our customer, a major hospital chain in the Arabian Gulf, was experiencing a high rate of isolation intensive care unit (ICU) stays due to the spread of multidrug-resistant organisms (MDROs). There had been many ideas over a two-year period to stem the rising tide of patients being admitted to the ICU, but nothing had made a substantial difference. An Oriel STAT A MATRIX senior facilitator led a team of hospital staff to address this key problem, and they identified a number of potential causes. The team then used a Lean healthcare approach and pinpointed one issue that, if addressed, could reduce the problem substantially. By focusing on this issue, the hospital was able to save over $1M in annual unnecessary costs.

Oriel STAT A MATRIX assisted Telenor Pakistan in the implementation of a TL 9000-based quality management system (QMS) customized to the needs of its technology division. This effort included defining and implementing an approach to monitor and manage the Telenor Pakistan network development efforts on an end-to-end basis, including network planning, network-related real estate, network installation, the network operations center, and field maintenance. In addition, a multilevel, cross-functional governance model was implemented to ensure the effectiveness of both the QMS and optimization of the end-to-end network development and operations.

Oriel STAT A MATRIX partnered with Thailand's National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) in the development of a program to train Thai companies in achieving certification to ISO 9001. This certification provided Thai industry with an effective tool to improve its international competitiveness, resulting in increased corporate revenue, tax receipts, and foreign currency to the country.
