Course Details

Objectives

  • Understand and apply advanced hypothesis testing procedures (analysis of variance and chi-square).
  • Recognize the need for nonparametric hypothesis testing, and apply the most commonly used tests (Mann-Whitney, Kruskal-Wallis, and Friedman).
  • Understand and apply advanced regression procedures (multiple linear regression and binary logistic regression).
  • Understand the value of experimentation and the impact it can have on product/process design and improvement.
  • Conduct an in-class experiment to apply full factorial experimentation concepts.
  • Understand when to apply fractional factorial and screening designs.
  • Recognize the application of time series in business forecasting.
  • Employ the concepts and tools learned with follow-along exercises using Minitab statistical software.

Who Should Attend

Professionals engaged in designing, improving, monitoring, and measuring processes in manufacturing, service, and transactional business environments. This course is a requirement for individuals who intend to achieve Corrective and Preventive Action and/or Applied Statistics and Process Performance Leader Certification within the Oriel STAT A MATRIX Certification Program. This course is also of interest to those wishing to gain credits toward Six Sigma Green and Black Belt Certification.

  • This training includes Minitab statistical software. Attendees are responsible for bringing laptops with Minitab software, as well as a scientific/statistical calculator.
